Problem with identifying (Chicken Systems-translated CD) sample locations with long pathnames

Problem with identifying (Chicken Systems-translated CD) sample locations with long pathnames

2002-08-07 by Aaron Rosenberg

Hey guys,

I just recently purchase Chicken Systems Translator for Macintosh.
(Please build an upgrade for OSX following EXS/Logic for OSX) Anyhow, I
imported 5 of my EMU Formula 4000 discs in entirety. In short, these
directories are DEEP. And when I select a kit, its practically
impossible to tell what kick.aiff I am looking for due to the repeat
naming. Translator, as a point of interest, is placing all my samples in
the same directory as the respective EXS file. My question is as
follows.

Can Translator define in the EXS format the location of the samples or
could EXS/Logic do a better job of either ordering the multiple choices
of sample selections by perhaps making the first option the sample in
the same directory as the EXS file. Logic unfortunately crops the path,
thereby leaving me without a clue.

Any suggestions guys? Thanks...Aaron

Yeah, my directories are so deep that when I see the two different
locations, they appear to be the same because the end of the location is
cutoff. I have no way of knowing which one I'm choosing. This has always
annoyed me. It's been a game of roulette. Hope you are listening Emagic.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
