chicken systems........??

chicken systems........??

2002-08-07 by john lin

I ordered their software for the mac after being told
it would bulk convert a massive amount of .wav sounds
to the exs in a way preferable to the tedious
one by one experience with the exs itself.
I payed for a overnight, needing to get on with my work,
paid extra customs duties and it's weeks later
and the "update" is still not up.
I also have received no reply to my emails.
It's just utter b.s. that computer companies
are not held accountable like everyonelse.
Man, i appreciate that they made the software,
i don't appreciate them not selling the product
they claimed they were selling and then
not even acknowledging an email.
We all help support this bogusness by justifying
it and giving them all a break etc....
How many thousands of hours have we all lost,
not making music, or not making a living
while emajic gets sold for 30 million dollars,
and we guinea pig the bugs.......
I'm sick of bug fixes THAT I PAY FOR WITH MY TIME!
5.1 corrupted a couple of my songs,
Why is my time not worth anything?
I bought a product, it said it would do something
it doesn't and I"M REPSONSIPLE FOR IT!!???
It's moral perversion.
Emajic's warranty at the front of all their
not updated manuals is just pathetic, just
like all the other music software "warranties".
Stated simply, it says you have no warranty.......

In direct response to Garth and absolute support to
"gristballistic", I don't want any appologies, i want
what i bought when i bought it!
So what if the guy repeatedly emailed you asking
for the update you had over optimistically told him
he would have. It's your fault not his!
Offer him a discount.....
If you've got time to respond on this board, THEN
MAKE THE TIME TO RESPOND TO HIS AND MY EMAIL AS WELL!
I'll be calling you guys. I have to pay
for most of my mistakes. I figure you guys
should at a minimum offer to refund part of this
guys money and part of mine.
Then maybe you would think twice about
selling something that can't do what you
claim it can do, before it is actually finnished
just to keep your market share.....

The update that will have bulk wav->EXS and also Kurzweil->EXS (for the
other person), and other things including a interface redesign, is going
through it's last bit of testing and I hope should be up today or tomorrow.
We talked to this person over the phone and I believe we have some
resolution to the issue, at least until the update is available. We also
refunded his shipping costs, which were significant, as a good measure.

As we've said, it's always our goal to respond to e-mails within 24 hours,
but we've needed to direct our attention to programming and getting the
testing done. One e-mail is easy - 200 of them is harder. But then that's
not the customers problem, that's ours.

Hi,
I really hate to see this forum used for bashing companies that support
us...without them...imagine the thousands of hours each of us would have
have lost...and the music that wouldn't have been written. I'm truly sorry
for your inconvenience...but this really isn't the place for your
complaints. Go buy a "gristballistic" a beer.

Julie

You are indeed a saint. Apparently when you purchase equipment or
software that doesnt actually work you simply laugh it off and go for
skip in the park. I wish I had your outlook.
However, this is EXACTLY (in my humble opinion) the forum for complaints
about relevent software problems relating to EXS. I assumed that other
users might find my experience helpful.Perhaps you can set me straight
on this - im a little confused. As for "bashing companies that support
us" ... oh Im sorry, I thought I was trying to get what I paid for.
Please Julie and Chicken Systems, accept my deepest apologies for
raising this matter, it was wrong of me to complain...I will now crawl
off to hide under a rock.

You never refunded my shipping costs Garth - but thats ok, you can keep
it. But please,no more 'tomorrows'- the last 'tomorrow' was yesterday,
which under different circumstances I might find amusing.
Maybe today...
