Funny you should ask, as I was just in the same situation as you last week.
I had no luck with sample librairies, so I hired a friend who plays great
violin (he can fiddle pretty well). Cost me more for that session than
American Heartland, but at least it sounded authentic! You might try the
Celtic sample library - I've read some good things about its fiddle, but I
haven't actually heard it.
