Hi Ewald,

I'm looking for the same kind of thing, so please let us know if you find 
these beats/sounds. I had to do some Surf music last week (circa 1964), and 
ended up programming my own beats using jazz drums and some filtering. 
There's lo-fi strings and things (with the mellotron, for eg) on synths, 
how about some old-fashioned drums?

There is an audio cd made by Ueberschall called
"Easy Listenling" that contains material of this type, 
I've heard it used for several current commercials.......
