Project SAM Horns

Project SAM Horns

2002-10-02 by Ned Bouhalassa

I just received my copy of the Project SAM French Horns sample cd
(http://www.projectsam.com/)

Mini review: A M A Z I N G

Buy it.

If you make soundtracks for a living, or even for fun, buy it.

If Project SAM makes a sample library of rocks, I will order it.

The staccatos - I never knew horns could play so fast; the stops - French
Connection/NYC 1970, here we come!; the soft sustains - evocative; the FX -
perfectly spooky; the gliss, etc, etc.

Best single sample cd I've ever bought.

Ned, in love (again).

Ditto.

Yep - this is the sort of price that DOESN'T make me think "Oh well,
maybe one day if I win a lottery".

I hope they sell bucketloads and make 10 times more money than if the
price were 10 times higher. :-)

Ned, are you using the SAM library through Gigastudio, or are you
converting it through the EXS?

IF you were to convert it using the EXS, I would imagine that the
conversion would screw up the patches that uses the mod wheel to
crossfade between samples, cause the EXS can't do this...yet.

The demos have sold me on this library though, I'm gonna buy it asap.

Thanks for the link!

Dumb Question

2002-10-03 by Matt

I hate asking a dumb question, but it's better to look stupid for a few
moments than to remain ignorant for life so here goes :-

Please can someone give me the low down on REX2, or point me at a web
resource where i can read up on it.

cheers

Matt

Or take a look at bitshiftaudio.com and try out PhatMatikPro. This is an
alternative to forking out bigger dollars for Recycle. A different beast
though.
Cheers

RE: [exs] Re: Dumb Question

Just bought it after trying the demo. Within 5 minutes of playing I'd
managed to get logic to crash out completely... I'll give it another try
over the weekend before asking for a re-fund though..
I also just played with dragging a dumping rex2 into a logic audio track
directly, and that's put enough of a smile on my face to last a day or
two...

You mean G-Town, right? ;-)

Yeah, Tobias gets my vote for most generous sample contributor of the year.
