Hi HJ,

I had no problem running Inspector in LAMP 5.3. The only thing that
comes to mind is that I run MacOS 9.2.1 instead of 9.0.4 - but I
would have thought that made no difference.

Since EXS MkII doesn't run in OS 9.0.4 (as I discovered after some
fiddling around), I finally had to sit down and take the time to do
the upgrade to 9.2.2. To my amazement, Inspector now suddenly *does*
show up -- so yes, it makes a difference, even though I hadn't
expected that either.

However, the Pluggo 3 stuff (the plugs from Matt Lyon) is still
complaining about Pluggo not being properly installed. Sigh...
sometimes I wish I just had a simple Steinway Grand or a Bosendorfer
instead of all this machinery :-).

No idea... If I _had_ a Steinway grand, and sold it, I could easily
buy the fastest Mac on the planet, all the software I want, and still
go on a rather expensive holiday for a couple of weeks. So... yes, I
indeed wish I had the Steinway instead of all this gear :-).

So big question folks: Does the EXS MkII run in OS 9.1, or do I have
to bite the bullet and upgrade to 9.2 as well?

I believe him, cos I'm the same. :-)

Not cos of hassles with the technology, but because playing a
top-quality piano is, to me (and to many others, I'm sure) a *deeply*
satisfying experience. It sorta gets to you deep down where you live, in
a way that the latest technology (fantastic, incredible and wonderful as
it is) doesn't quite.

It's 20 years since I bought my first synthesizer (Oberheim OBXa) and my
opinion hasn't changed on this one.
