[LAM] Midi in to multiple EXSmkII's via Enviroment?

[LAM] Midi in to multiple EXSmkII's via Enviroment?

Greetings
(I'm a bit new to Logic 5.5 Mac OSX.. Hope the below is fairly cear!)
How does one setup in the environment Midi in to EXSmkII?
I have 3 keyboards in my studio and want each one to play/record
a different EXSII enabled track simultaneously ...

I've patched a port from the 'Physical Input' object to a 'Audio
Instrument' fader object...
I set the 'Audio Instrument' fader objects 'midi cha' to the same #
as the instruments #... (necessary I believe?)
even set the 'port' in keyboard ch# to match (necessary?)...
BUT I don't get the signal to the object when I play/record
(unless I select the track... which defeats my pre 'Sequencer Input'
object patching...)
What am I doin wrong?

A side question:
Is it true that when one wants to record multiple midi input port/
channels
one patches the ports used directly to the 'Sequencer Input'
object?...
Then one "selects" & record enables a track set to 'No Input'...
(One does not select or record enables other tracks with Insrument
assignments or with midi out assignments... Right?)
Record the muti port/channel performance,
THEN use the 'Demix by Event Channel' under 'Functions'...?
(Which puts the data in the other prepared tracks that have the
channel/Instrument assignments... Unfortunately, it never assigns
them all correctly and I have to manually drag a few track objects to
my intended destinations... arrgh. )
Is this the best proedure ?....

THANKS for any help!
