Lets be realistic. You only will be using a fraction of that 120Gb of samples in a track, so just create a second directory under the Logic one called "Sampler Instruments (Unused)" and move the unused ones in there. That way Logic loads way quicker and no problems. If you decide to use a sample, move the set back into the sampler instruments folder and rescan. ~Pev __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? This sounds like a fair work around, but surely this indicates a fundamental problem with the software? I'd try and emulate it and submit a bug report *IF* I had that many samples. As for the startup slowdown issue, thats only to be expected - thats a lot of information to process prior to startup. Hm. Average sample CD = 0.65Gb. Average price 60UKP/cd. 120 Gb = approx 184 CDs = approx 11,960 UKP. Dont take this the wrong way, but I dont actually know any professional musicians that have close to that investment in legitimate samples.... Ok, so some may be home-brew samples but thats still represents an unlikely amount of data. Eric P (if you're reading this thread) ; You're probably the most high output sample creator I know on the list - how much data do you normally have in your EXS folder?
