LAM: EXS finds audiofile several times

LAM: EXS finds audiofile several times

2002-12-30 by josquinleprez <jos@big-orange.nl>

Hey,

problem: I use a server on a network which contains the sampler
instruments and the Samples I use. I use the instruments and
samples from within another Mac, and the samples are thus
transferred through the network to my RAM.

Now, often, when I choose an instrument from within my EXS, it
says: "Sample X'" was found several times.
Then I can select 1 of three of the SAME options.
It keeps asking and asking, and depending on how big the
instrument is, it can take up to 20 minutes before I actually can
use it.
I'm sure that I have no duplicate samples on the serverdisk.

Anyone with the same problem??

gr
Jos

Still sounds like a duplicate to me, but I know you don't want to hear it.
Maybe there's some kind of multiple routing to your other computer. Is this
OSX, OS9, or Windows?

You could try restricting the search that EXS makes for sample in your
preferences (open the Instrument editor and pick preferences from the edit
menu). In general, you can tell the EXS what drives to search on and if all the
files that you want it to use are on one drive you might be able to resrtict
the search to that drive.

I am on PC and I only use local drives for my samples so I cannot test this
here.

Hope this helps,
Regards,
Murray
