Manual

Manual

2003-01-15 by mnibbs <mnibbs@yahoo.com>

I got the upgrade from Logic Platinum PC to Mac V.5 but no manual for
the EXS24. I had the old manual so maybe they don't send a new one on
an upgrade. Is there any place on line to find one?

Thanks-

When installing LA 5.0-5.4 there's nothing changed so you don't need
a new manual. In 5.5 you get the EXS mkII which only comes with an
additional pdf which is installed in your Logic's application folder.
No new manual, and the pdf is sketchy at best.

Thanks for the reply. So there is no manual at all for the EXS? My demo is
running out and I can't figure out if it's a worthwhile investment. The mapping
and editing look cumbersome but maybe I'm missing something..

It may not look like much, but it's pretty powerful. All the guys at the
main music store I buy stuff at are drooling over Kontakt though. I can't
comment on something I've never used, but I'm very happy with the EXSmkII.
It's recent improvements make it fill my requirements. I have several wants,
but it does the job. I am, however, disappointed to hear about the 32-layer
limit and other things like that, but these things don't usually pose a
problem for me. Good luck in your choice.

There _is_ a manual. It's just the mk-I manual. And AFAIC, the EXS
is worth every penny. One of the best buys in my life (together with
Logic, that is :). Sturdy workhorse, and more than that now that
we've got the mkII.

Same here -- I use it more than anything else. The exs is totally stable and
very efficient. Instrument building has some cumbersome aspects -- you cannot
edit multiple zones simultaneously (except for "one shot") for example. However
the Load Multiple samples routines make building things a piece of cake if you
have samples with the root note in the name or written to the file.

So don't be put off -- the water's fine :)
