is this some kind of hot key?

is this some kind of hot key?

2003-01-15 by highlandsource <seranance@hotmail.com>

hi,

i've been using an apple pro keyboard with my powerbook which
has the "+" and "-" keys on the extended numerical keypad (the
group of keys on the right, whatever technical term that enjoys;).
when i have an exs onscreen these keys affect whatever control
the mouse was last used on provided it was an on/off button -
unison, edit, fat, etc. is this a hot key? i've been into key
commands and they're not assigned (indeed, while in key
commands the "+" and "-" do strange things in there too).

anyone shed some light? particularly if there's a way to turn this
off please...

cheers.

andy.

This came up once before when I tried to assign key commands to these keys.
Logic does override them with something. They can't be reassigned for
personal use. Bummer. -Jer

It's hard wired into Logic. It's not just for the EXS either. It's designed for "the most recent" active increment/decrement sliding value control used. Very useful in my experience. If you want to assign the +/- keys, just add one or more modifiers with them.

ah, thanks eli, it makes sense to me too now ;)

i guess i'll live with occasionally having the editor appear like
some unwanted and dubious lady from my dim and distant
past...
