Hi Sara If you really want to go for it, try using the EXS as a Sampler, not just a Sample Player. i.e, Sample stuff yourself! Suggestions: 1. sample your voice and play with words and vocal noises (you do want exotic, don't you?) 2. invite some musician friends, get the best microphone you can, and just try recording some sounds like trumpet or flute or something else 3. I might get bashed in this list, but you can always sample from recordings, as long as you don't sell it or profit directly from it, just to try a composition, you can sample straight from CD, if you want to. After you get someone to pay you to record and sell your song, then you can re-create the sampled sound with other gear/people/studios, etc... Oh, in case you don't know, to make the EXS sample, all you have to do is record audio with logic (or any other program) and import it into a new EXS patch (use the editor and read your manuals/readme's ) Oh, and play with that super cool filter inside the EXS and the envelopes! who knows, you might just create the new Crystal's and Fantasia's!!! :))) Remember, with a sampler you can turn almost any noise into music, it just depends on taste! :) Good luck, and ... have fun!!! ruben ultrassom productions sao paulo brasil
