sound menu change in EXS24/Logic 6?

sound menu change in EXS24/Logic 6?

2003-02-05 by Remco Muntz

I hate the way you have to pick/look for a sound via the pop-up menu.
It's totally ridiculous that when I'm looking for a sound that's
somewhere in the folder drums>dance (for instance, if I'd have such a
file-structure), and that folder is filled with 40 instruments, I have
to surf everytime through my sub-menu's to look for the next sound I
want to try. There should be an option to keep a browser open all the
time and you can click on the sounds one by one, without having to
scroll through all the sub-menu's.
I was wondering if this was 'fixed' in logic 6.

Go into your key commands and program the "select next instrument" function.
You'll be set. -Jer

Yes, but that's the same as pressing the +-button, which is better than
it was, but still doesn't let me see an overview of the samples I have.
I want to be able to read a list of sampes and be able to click them
one by one, without having to go through the horrible menus. I believe
the Kontakt has a much better sound-browser, but I'm not sure.

I see. I really want a sampler that does this well. The EXS24 is NOT it. The
202 was a great idea (and free) but they blew a simple dream machine by only
triggering AIFF files (no WAVs or SD2s) and not allowing a +/- option to
cruise through sounds. What a tragedy. Other than that, the 202 has pitch,
resonate filter and a bunch more for each drum sound. In this case, by
missing by an inch, they missed by a mile. I wish someone would get the
hint. I would scrap 3 quarters of my EXS drum kits if I could load drums
like this, and I'd pay good money for the capability. IS ANYONE LISTENING
OUT THERE? -Jer

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
