EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

dear exs-users!

i joined this group because i have to deal with a strange problem. all 
of a sudden, my exs can not be assigned as a multichannel-instrument 
anymore. its no longer in the list of multichannel-instruments.

when i load old songs (where it  had been a m.c.-instrument), i get the 
following error message:

    asio: plug-in exs24 of type 1-0 not available!

of course, i tried trashing preferences, didnt help.

please help me, im in the middle of a theater production...

well, no help but:

i got the exact same problem just now.

it happened after moving my entire logic folder to my laptop not to miss any
vst plugins or else.

is it a problem to simply _move_ the logic folder to another machine.

i copied the preferences as well and adopted them to the powerbooks audio
configuration (828 instead of 2408).

the exs does not show up in the muliple out instruments menu anymore ...

anyone got a clue?

all legal LAMP 5.5 on MAC 9.2.2 ...

Hey there,
    You can't just copy your Logic folder over to another machine, you have to
re-install it, its not just about moving the preferences, i believe Logic
installs invisible authorisations for all the instruments too which wouldn't be
transfered, also if you have 3rd party plugins installed they too have there
own preferences so may not work or show up simply by copying hope this
helps/makes sense.

I don't think I can be of any help here, Ulf, but I experienced exactly the
same error message for Battery the other day.
Now, two things:
- I am on Windows.
- In the case of Battery, there's some .cfg file created besides the plugin
file (the .dll). I just had to delete it, readjust Battery and everything
was fine again.

Problem is that this is a Windows workaround. Second problem is that the EXS
doesn't create any such .cfg file either.
If I'd experience such a problem for the EXS I'd simply reinstall Logic
(takes 5 minutes or so). But I don't know if that will help on Macs at all.

Did anyone figure this one out yet?

I just got this problem yesterday.  All of the sudden, no 
multi-channel EXS-24.

I'm using Plat 5.3.0 on 9.2.2 with a PT Mix Card and DirectTDM, 
G4/500.

It's not the prefs.  And I tried a reinstall by putting Logic on 
another drive and just grabbing the application itself and putting 
it in the old folder.  No luck.  I thought it might have something to 
do with those Res libs in the Logic 5 folder, but those seem to 
be for the graphics of the plugs only.

I can't think on any other files that are visible that would affect the 
performance of Logic in this way.  I've always just copied the app 
to new folders and new machines and never had any problems.

Any other extensions or prefs I'm not thinking of.  What about the 
x-key driver for using 4.x?  out of ideas.
