EXS In existing sequences problem

EXS In existing sequences problem

2003-02-19 by Tim Curtis

Hi Everyone -

Here's one that I can't seem to figure out -

I'm currently running Logic 4.8.1 with EXS24. (I know - I should
update...) If I open Logic into a new song then I have access to my
audio instruments and can use EXS24 with no problem.

However, if I open songs that were sequenced earlier (and under earlier
versions of Logic) then there is no option to select an Audio
Instrument. There are no Audio Instruments in the Environment window.

I've tried to figure out if there's a way of importing an environment
from an existing song, but I can't seem to figure it out.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Tim

The easiest way to do it is to copy and paste the MIDI data from the
old sequence into the new one.

You can create new ones. Just because they are not in the environment,
doesn't mean they are not there. Create new object, select it, double-click
on the item to quickly convert it to a track, in the box on the lower left
of the screen (CHA), select audio->instrument channel and the instrument
channel number.

[exs] EXS can't find samples

2003-02-22 by Evan Benjamin

I've moved to a new CPU and moved my apps to new drives.
Now, my EXS24 sees some samples and not others, even though all the samples
in question are on one drive. Why might that be?

Assuming that your samples are not residing in your Logic folder, because
your samples are on another drive, and you are instead using an alias in the
Logic folder, you may need to create a new alias to allow your instruments to
locate the samples' new drive.

I had a similar problem. Turned out when I migrated my samples and
soundfonts to the new 'puter, I burned them on disk and put them in a
new 'sampler instruments' folder. You could try to find that folder
and make sure that Read-Only is turned off...if you have a pc.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
