EXS24mkII quicker loading?

EXS24mkII quicker loading?

2003-03-21 by robinkielly

I just wondered if there is an easier way of loading programs which
were converted via exs24MKI format when using EXS24MKII? I know
that after opening them once, the following times are much quicker,
but I have a huge library and it's quite frustrating having to wait
while it saves into version 2 format for the first time for each
program. Any work around other than reloading from original source
cd's?

Thanks in advance
Robin

Set up a small cycled sequence in arrange with a single 'next
program' command in it (assign a midi command to this in the key
commands window). Let it run overnight, so that by the next morning
all your prgs will have loaded once. Make sure you don't have
duplicate samples on your harddisk though, as that will prompt the
EXS to put up a dialog and ask you what to do -- which will obviously
halt the process.

Hendriks advice is great. However if you've updated to Logic 6 the project
manager includes a feature called 'scan' that does this all for you easily

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
