Global EXS volume rider?

Global EXS volume rider?

2003-03-24 by Nick Batzdorf

Can anyone think of a permanent (i.e. Environment-level) way to
assign a real-time volume controller to the EXS? You can assign a
controller to the mixer channel no problem, but that's different.

It's annoying having to set it up for each patch, in fact it's silly
that there isn't one already set up. To me this is next to velocity
response in importance.

Thanks.

You could download my autodemo.zip set of tutorials for track based
automation (Logic section of my website). The 1st one shows how to
use a single controller (like modwheel) to affect some VST(i)
parameter. Connect a Monitor object to the EXS channelstrip and
wiggle the EXS volume slider to see which Fader Event volume is, and
use that to adjust the 1st tutorial to suit your needs. That might
do the trick I guess.

You can automate any midi parameter in the EXS through the arrange window.

Thanks Hendrik. Your autodemo.zip didn't work for me (Logic doesn't
see the unzipped .LSO files), but I'll try what you said.
