Akai Samples convert

Akai Samples convert

2003-04-19 by scugs2003

Is there anyone that can tell me how to get all my Akai samples over
from my Akai S3200 Sampler which is all stored on- (MO) drive and on
to my Logis ESX. How do you get them From the Magnetic Optical drive
on to a format I presume CD and then on to ESX on my PC ?????????

If you have a SCSI interface on your PC, I see no reason why you can't just
hook it up to the PC and EXS will see it and transfer it. (Or does the EXS
just do CD's?)

If you don't, you're going to either have to use another computer (that has
a SCSI Interface) to copy it on a CD (maybe that would be best), and the
EXS can do it.

SCSI Interfaces are real cheap these days - CompUSA sells them for under
$50. I have a bunch in inventory as leftovers; heck, I might as well give
you one. They are ISA's, but they really work well. (Most new computers
have just PCI slots, but even then, ISA slots didn't go away as fast as
people thought.)

No matter what, you will need a SCSI Interface on SOME computer to move the
data off the MO.

(P.S. - what's an ESX?)

`Is the drive scsi or ?. I took a scsi drive that I had developed a
bunch of S2000 sounds on to, connected it to a Mac, opened Toast,
copied to my mac as Toast file, burned it on my CD burner, and then
load to Logic using Akai conversion. And though it sounds confusing, it
was really very easy.
