Thanks for your reply Hendrik. I'm VERY new to the list and have yet
to get a handle on exactly how to do a search or where to begin. I
did see a thread on giga conversions but I was having difficulty
figuring out how to view the entire thread from beginning to end.

In either case, I'll do a little more investigating on my own before
issuing my next post. If anyone wishes to email me directly at
ecstatic@..., concerning my questions, feel free to do so.
Thanks much.

Login at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/exs-users/ and there you'll
find a 'search archive' option. Enter "giga conversion" in the
searchbox, and yahoo will find a ton of matches. The yahoo
search-system only searches the last xxx (exact number?) of messages.
Then when the results are shown, you can click a "next" button which
will let it search the xxx messages _before_ that, etc. (Yes, maes no
sense to have "next" search the *previous* messages, but that's yahoo)

When viewing a found message, you have to option to go "up thread",
which will walk you back through the entire thread. There's no way to
walk _forward_ through a thread.

I agree that the way yahoo lets you search and follow threads isn't
very intuitive...

And, btw, your reply had "Digest Number 961" as subject. A more
descriptive subject will usually trigger more response...

[EXS] FAQ massively expanded

2003-05-07 by Hendrik Jan Veenstra

Hi gang,

The Logic FAQ has been completely renewed, and expanded (thanks to
George Leger contributing a huge database with Q/A's). It now
contains 24 chapters with approx. 300 Q/A's. Quite a few EXS-related
as well (hey, this _is_ an on-topic mail... :)

I've set up a subdomain, so you can now access the FAQ more directly:

http://logicfaq.omega-art.com/

The old address, http://www.omega-art.com/logic/faq/, will still work
though, so you don't have to change your bookmarks immediately (or at
all).

Please *don't ever* link to individual Q/A's or chapters directly, as
the order of questions and/or chapters may change at any time. Just
use the top-level links above.

Also: I've just spent a week adding George's database to the FAQ.
Some Q's may still be in the wrong (or less-logical) chapter and
might move in the upcoming week -- I just don't feel like thinking
about that too much right now, but didn't want to delay uploading the
new thing. Hence the potential 'errors' in the current placement of
Q's. Many PC keyboard shortcuts are also still missing, and will be
added in the near future.

Any feedback on / suggestions w.r.t. anything FAQ-related is appreciated.

enjoy,
HJ

All I can say is NICE WORK! Kudos to the authors - I shudder to
think of the hours involved to make this all happen. From my
perspective, much needed and much appreciated - and thank
you!

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
