re: problem opening samples

Hi, I'm new to ESX so please excuse the basic query. I'm on a Mac G4 using
Logic 5.3 ,allready have several samples installed and running fine - just
bought a new CD Rom with ESX patches - installed the folder from the Rom
into the Samples folder within the Logic folder as instructed, but Logic
can't find the files! either off my hard drive or the CD ROM itself,,, (it's
the extended Wave file package from powerfx) Have contacted the company who
feel it may be a Logic problem rather than a software thing ... anyone got
any tips??
Regards, goshgirl

Hi Jen !
It looks like that there is an installation problem !

There are two types of files when using the EXS :

* .exs files ( which direct you when selected to
the corresponding WAV or AIFF files.

* WAV / AIFF files which are the actual samples.

You MUST put the .exs files within SAMPLER INSTRUMENTS
folder and NOT in the Samples folder IN ORDER TO BE
RECOGNIZED BY EXS24 INSTRUMENTS LIST !!!

The WAV or AIFF files can be where you choose.

When you select the instrument from the EXS24
instruments list the system will search for the
samples and find it.

Hope this will help you !
Good luck

Thanks for replying - had already tried what you suggested with no success
- Logic is picking up the files (from sampler instruments folder), but then
not finding the wav/aiff files associated with them (have tried placing
these both in the sample folder, and getting directly off the CD Rom). I'm
not having trouble with any other instruments that are already installed...
