I just finished a webpage with a comparison between our PMI piano 
libraries:
The same midi file playing on the different LE pianos that we just 
released. I used Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu in C# Minor, Op. 66. 
wellknown for dynamic and fast piano playing.

All Mp3's are clean 192 kbps files without eq or reverb.

Well, I feel like eating crow after my comments a couple of days ago 
about how sampled pianos aren't all that great. The B\ufffdsendorfers are 
pretty awesome, and the ambient Yamaha is very good. Really good 
performance too, by the way.

My only question about the B\ufffdsendorfers is whether the loud dynamics 
are lumpy or the others are compressed. For example the Gb on top of 
the treble cleff a few seconds in sticks out more than on the other 
recordings (even though the overall balance on the B\ufffds is much better 
- and I bet you used it when you sequenced the piece, right?).

But it wouldn't occur to anyone that they're hearing a sampled piano.

Just out of interest, what does this (from your license agreement) mean?

"You may not use these recorded samples in a non-melodic, solo-ed 
context in a musical recording or music library."

In other words, what is a non-melodic, solo-ed context? Not trying to 
start fights, just curious...

I've been using the PMI Bos with EXS for a couple of months.  Nothing, 
in my opinion, comes close to the realism of this piano.  It is also 
really a delight to play.

Probably meant to prohibit resampling -- i.e. play separate notes and 
record those and then sell your own Bosendorfer sample CD...

... although, as stated, this condition also excludes the use of the 
samples in a lot of avant-garde music for piano solo :-).
