EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

Sounds like you might have a corrupted AKAI cd. Have you tried contacting 
the place you bought it from? Maybe Spectrasonics support can help you. You 
might also try importing it into one of your hardware samplers, just to 
make the sure the cds are OK.

I've been using them in my Emu samplers for about 3 years now.... just tried 
to import them into the EXS24 now that I'm using it almost exclusively. For 
some reason it just won't register in the import window, and it's worked just 
fine with other AKAI CDROMs.   Anyone have a similar situation?

See the EXS-24 list FAQ under Mixed Mode CD's. Sounds like they might be 
mixed mode (Audio and Akai data on the same CD), and the Apple CD/DVD 
Drivers have a well-known bug that causes problems, and the FAQ describes a 
workaround.

Use the 1.3.5. Apple CD/DVD driver. It works with Mixed Mode CD:s.
Later versions of that driver does not work.
I had exactly the same problem myself using the 1.4.8 driver.

Yes, tehre's an audio file on there somewhere -- it looks like the mixed 
media thing is probably the problem. Thanks Garth!

If Garth is right, you may need an older version of the Apple CD/DVD driver,
version 1.3.9.
That allows you to read Audio/Akai sample disks from within the EXS
converter.  I have it if anyone needs it.  Email me privately at
jeryan@... and I'll attach it to an email.

I also have the Akai CD, all I did was convert it with CDxtract and it works 
fine... I only have EXSP24 which is the player so the importing akai format 
does not apply to me, so CD Xtract is great
