HELP: when prelisten akai cd's, the exs converts all these sounds

hi from germany! system: g3/266, logic platinum 4.7.3 is it normal that when i'm prelisten to sounds from an akai cd in the exs, every sound i've listening is converted and in the akai samples folder? is there an option to turn it off cause it makes no sense???? now the chaos in my akai samples folder is perfect...... thanks for your help cheers peter
