Re: Best power amp to use w/2101?

2007-02-15 by Gerry ODowd

I use a Tubeworks Mosvalve MV-962 I got in the early 90's.
I do not believe they still make this exact one, but there are similar
ones out there, check ebay, or your local used gear shop. Tubeworks
makes a lot of guitar equipment. The "Mosvalve" is a MOSFET solid state
amp, but it is supposed to sound like tubes, and does sound great with
my 2101. It is louder than I have ever needed.

It is supposedly 80 watts a side, and is not too heavy. It's always
worked great, since the day I bought mine anyway.

I usuallly turn the volume on the power amp down, as I experience
better sound from my 2101 with its output knob cranked up pretty good,
like three quarters or more. Work those tubes!!!!
