Re: [gsp-2101] FX Loop

You could use a WOBO MIDI Looper as well - it is available on eBay and has a single loop controlled via MIDI.
There is also 4 loops version available as well.

I use 4 loops version and I control it using MIDI from my FC One footswitch via GSP2101.

I understand your problem. The only solution I can recommend is to include a MIDI-controlled audio signal router/switcher in your setup. An expensive example of one of these devices is the Voodoo Labs / DMC GCX. These are one of the few that are still being manufactured and there are several currently being auctioned on eBay. I use an older, discontinued, but just as effective Ibanez EPP-400 for duties such as this. You can occasionally see these on eBay also.

To solve your problem, you would insertyour MIDI-controlled switcher in the GSP-2101's effect loop and, depending on the patch you are currently using, the switcher would either include or bypass your echo unit. Of course, these switchers are capable of a lot more than this simple application, but it'll get the job done without having to alter the bowels of your GSP-2101.

Hope this helps. Please let us know how you solve this problem.

Subject: [gsp-2101] FX Loop

The problem I'm having is that I want the FX loop On/Summed/Bypass
option to control the SEND, not RETURN (as it behaves in all versions
of the 2101). Or, if that's not possible, I'd want so that it turns
on/off both, the return and the send.

Example: I have a high-feedback (90%) echo in the FX Loop. And I'm
going between two patches; we'll call them A and B.

Patch A = Dstrd sound; FX Loop Off
Patch B = Clean sound; FX Loop ON (echo)

Let's say I'm going to play a chorus using Patch A and switch to
Patch B for the next verse. Since the 2101 is set up in a way where
the FX SEND is ALWAYS on..... once I hit that switch, my distortion
will start echo'ing (getting delayed) - and therefore mess up the
sound of the verse.

Is there any kind of firmware upgrade (I already have v3.0.0.a) that
can alter what the On/Summed/Bypass option controls? If not, is it
possible to have it electronically/mechanically edited and if so, do
you happen to know any engineers who can pull this off?
