Re: [gsp-2101] My New 2101

Here's my suggestions:

1. Try a power-up factory reset:
  1.. Power off your 2101
2.. Hold the function (access) key [1] while powering on your 2101
3.. Wait until the asterisk * appears in the top-left corner of the
display
4.. Release the function key [1]
5.. Press the Program Up button to complete the Factory Reset
2. Take the lid of your unit and make sure the EPROMs are firmly seated:
1.. Power down your GSP-2101 and DISCONNECT THE POWER CABLE.
2.. Make sure you have DISCONNECTED the power cable.
  3.. Using a #2 PoziDrive screwdriver, remove the 6 side-panel screws and
the rear-panel top center screw.
4.. Using a 7/16 inch hex key, remove the front-panel top center hex bolt.
  5.. Remove the lid.
6.. Locate the EPROMs U79 and U81. Note that each EPROM has a notch at
one end, towards the front panel of the GSP-2101.
7.. Gently apply downward pressure on each EPROM, making sure that all
legs are correctly seating in their holes without bending. Apply a slight
rocking motion if necessary.
  8.. Re-attach the lid to the GSP-2101.
  9.. Re-connect the power cable.
3. Use some MIDI software to perform a system dump and send the dump to me.
If you don't have any software, I can send you a PC program for free. EMail
this dump to me so I can analyse it to see what the problem is.

Graham Pearson
