It sounds like a bad power supply. There are 3 voltage regulator IC's in the 2101 (on the back side, connected to the heat sink) and very often one of them will die due to old age. Your symptoms described are consistent with this problem. If you're competent with a soldering iron, you can easily replace the component yourself. We are an independent service facility that handles ADA, Digitech, Roland, Yamaha, etc, and we'll be happy to do the work for you. We specialize in 2101's and always have a small stash of loaner 2101's on hand if you can't be without one while you send yours in for service. Good luck!
