Noisy output on gain patches?

Noisy output on gain patches?

2007-03-22 by Shannon D. Dew

I just hooked my 2101 up to my Presonus Firebox via the XLR outs and
the clean patches sound ok, but every gain patch has a latent
squeal/hiss/fizz that completely drowns out the actual output...any
ideas? I just got the 2101 a few days ago and just hooking it straight
up to my monitors away from my PC it sounded fine...

You ll probably want to avoid running your 2101 s XLR outs into mic preamps. They are better suited to line level inputs. ... From: gsp-2101@yahoogroups.com

I agree. I use XLR to 1/4 in to a motu and it the best damn thing since beer.

Yeah, I'm running the XLR to 1/4 into the line level inputs...I'm
avoiding the mic pre's...I looked on the PreSonus forums and it's
apparently a big problem with the Firebox, so back it goes to
sweetwater...I knew it couldn't be my beloved 2101 ;)

And nothing is as a good as beer...don't talk crazy :D
