HELP: No Chorus (2nd Request)

2007-09-11 by Bob Snelgrove

Guys

What could it be?
thx

Bob,

I saw your first request but it's a real head scratcher. Have you
tried resetting the unit? That should bring it back to stock settings
which in fact have workable chorus.

Just so I'm straight on this... you've checked all the parameters of
the chorus settings?

Re: [gsp-2101] Re: HELP: No Chorus (2nd Request)

Hi Jim
I've tried raising the depth, speed and level, changed the form, etc.
What mixer would I check? This is the alg w/ reverb/delay/chorus, not custom.
I haven't reset, afraid to lose everything!
thx

Bob:
Downstream of the reverb, you'll find one or more mixers. Make sure that none of these mixers is set to 100% dry.

Grahm
They were all set to 100%, some panned 50%left some 50% right and some center. How do I tell what "Dry" is?
thx

I went to my machine to see what your problem might be. If you're
referring to the patch where the distortion is by-passed, the chorus
effect is very subtle so try this.
1. First turn the Reverb off to make it easier to see the effects of
the following ajustments.
2. Press the [Mix] button until you reach the "Wet to Dry Mixer" and
adjust it to 100% Wet.
3. You can further reduce the direct signal to increase the chorus
effect. Press the [Mix] button until you get to "Mixer A". Reduce
Input 3 and Input 4 to around 50% but the final value is up to you.
4. Turn the Reverb back on and adjust the "Reverb Level" to your
taste. You'll probably need only around 5% since your Wet to Dry
Mixer is full Wet.
I hope this helps.

I hate to say RTFMl but it does help to obtain a copy of the manual for this
device. Just a quick look at the algorithm diagrams in the back would help
clarifiy your understanding.

Check your algorythm?? You might have the effect passing through another effect that is in the off state so it never makes it to the chorus.
