Newbie Needs Some Answers

Newbie Needs Some Answers

2005-03-29 by Brian Kou

So I've owned my Digitech 2101 Artist for like 8 years and it has
3.00.a software. I also have a Control One.

I want to get the dual S disc processing upgrade. How do I go about
doing that? Is that a ppc 210 module? And if I get it, is it easy to
install?

Also, I am reading about "dumping"? Does that mean I can create
stuff on my computer then "dump" it into my 2101? That sounds friggin
sweet, but I have no clue how to do that, how to plug my computer into
my 2101. Could someone explain it to me or direct me to a website
that explains it?

Ultimately, I really would like to explore creating more algorhythms,
and upgrading to the dual S disc, without totally fucking up my
preamp. Thanks guys, any help is well appreciated.

The ppc-210 is pretty much an extinct animal unless you can find a
custom built one or a used one or a unit with one already installed. You
can do a midi dump to your pc to backup your 2101 memory. A cable is
available at many music stores to connect your pc to the 2101

I use cakewalk to backup my 2101 but there are many utilities available
for this purpose (some free).

Re: Newbie Needs Some Answers

2005-03-29 by mylernascar

I use the M-Audio USB Midisport Uno Midi cable to connect my 2101 to
my computer - quick and easy and works like a charm. It is also
very affordable.

Look for it on any musical supply store online eg musicians friend.

Also there was a guy on ebay that sold the ppc-210s - I dont know if
he still does or not - go over and do a search. I also know that
several sites have listed instructions on how to build your own if
you are skilled in that area.

Good Luck

Re: Newbie Needs Some Answers

I don't think that's possible anymore. You need the DSP chip from
Digitech and as far as I can recall, it is no longer available.

Dieter, who is a member of this group, was selling the few "home made"
units he could produce, he was actually kind enough to notify the group
some weeks ago before posting them on Ebay, check the older messages.
He might still have some available.

Gus.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
