Hello, Klaus' libraran may be Java, but MIDI support works off Windows only. He states linux so that would be possible. The easiest way would be to use sysex patches off any midi utility. Searching for "mac sysex" I get this as a first result : http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/ This is a generic SysEx sender. You could use the sounds-sysex.zip file and load a syx file to the K5. http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/k5synth/files/Patch%20Library/ MIDI TRS and RCV turn off on reset, that is on purpose, but turn them on. You don't need the ext card, all it gives you is twice the amount of ram for sounds. There is a load button on K5, but has never seen any use, unless you are tranferring between two K5s using save and load. Just send the SYX file with the sysex utility on the right port, and this should load a full INT bank. All you have to do is to place the protect switch to off and enable exclusive TRS and RCV. Once I toggle these settings, do I have to save? I have tried this but have no ext card - can I save this internally? > > Also, is there something specific I need to do to initialize communication between the k5m and the librarian program? > > Any step-by-step guidance would be greatly appreciated! > > Thanks, > -Matt > > --- In k5synth@yahoogroups.com, Simon Kunath <sck@> wrote: > > > > On Thu, 02 Aug 2012 03:35:12 -0000, you wrote: > > > > >Hello All, > > > > > >So I'm having a tough time figuring out how to transfer the original patch libraries over to the K5m. I am in OSX Snow Leopard and am wondering if this is even possible. The librarian .jar file runs fine in OSX, I can select and open my "USB MIDI CABLE", but from there, I don't know how to initialize my K5m in the program - I just see the red icon stating there is no connection. > > > > > >I have checked the MIDI settings on the K5m and selected TRS=on RCV=on, TRS=1 RCV=1 OMNI=on PGM=SINGLE > > > > Do you have two midi cables attached, in & out?
