Re: [k5synth] Seeking K5 part

If the motherboard is good, just another battery to wire in that is 3V, Velcro it in if you have to, make sure nothing can short and make it work. See this web site (about a quarter of the way down) for more battery info. Even a small leaded 3V lithium battery should work if you can not find the exact replacement.

Here is the battery spec:

jameco.com has some battery holders.
Good luck. Be sure you back up any data before you remove the battery (if you haven't already). All my information is based on data I have read and not an actual viewing of the battery and board. Correct me if I am wrong.

Are you trying to talk about the plates sticked to the
battery, that comes off WITH the battery(It's making
part of it, you didn't scraped the board, just
destroyed the old battery)?

Now, if it's what I think, use your soldering iron and
remove the remaining pins in the holes(Remove the
board first) and insert the wires getting out of the
new battery in the holes(Any between both on the side
that there are two), new same type battery is not a
custom made one like the old one.

Anyways, there is a really low number of K5 produced,
so someone will even take the pain to hard wire a
board if it breaks.
