Yes, but companies like Steinberg and Emagic provided over the past years affordable, comparable and workable solutions for musicians at a lower price level. And due to open standards (like VST) you have a broad product choice. My worry is that Emagic will go the Digidesign route: own standards, less integratable with 3d party products, higher prices, diminished platform comptability, and ultimately losing ground against other competitors (especially Steinberg). And I'm looking at this purely from the (Emagic)user perspective: the user who has invested time and money in Emagic products and now finds him/herself in restriction of choices. And this is what already is going on now and might get worse over time if you decide to stick with Emagic.
