Don't worry. VST is not going anywhere. My understanding is that it is already a part of OSX. The only thing that kind of bugs me is that there is not yet any kind of "wrapper" to make old VST functions work in OSX with out having a little work done on them. Old OS 9.xx plugs have to have (what I am told is a trivial) operation done on them to make their graphics compatible with OSX. It will be interesting to see what happens with audio units. It sounds like there are a lot of plugins that have already been ported. >And I'm looking at this purely from the (Emagic)user perspective: the >user who has invested time and money in Emagic products and now finds >him/herself in restriction of choices. >And this is what already is going on now and might get worse over >time if you decide to stick with Emagic. Yes I would like to know the future too. But I don't. One thing I do know is that there is enough competition out there to assure that things will be getting better not worse. One thing is do see that is getting worse is the tendency of people to bottom quote. Truly annoying.
