I wonder what you would have done Joeri, if you still admin-ing... here's some of a personal note i sent to Jeremy for all to read (unless it gets moderated of course) ______________________________ You guys are doing what you think is the right thing, and I respectfully but strongly protest that. YOU are an admin and you're doing a great job on the LUG. It's much cleaner, and therefore enjoyable, to read the real LUG since you started helping. Thank you for that. As you probably already know, I don't agree with the OT list moderation and I think cowtowing (sp?) to one or two complainers (Tobias and Richard who else was there?) who don't use digest mode and get upset when there's controversial postings is over-reactive. A gentle private note explaining the benefits of digest mode would have been more appropriate IMHO. OR, they could just un-sub till the stuff they don't like dies down and then rejoin when there's something relevant on the LUG that gets moved to OT. I especially think deleting all the past political posts was silly, especially since I wrote such genius letters (that's a joke). But, I wouldn't take your job for anything. AND... just because I set up another list (which is just temporary until you change your mind about the OT list) and banned you from it is no reflection on what I think of your job on the main LUG or you as a person. one thing you might consider is throwing a note to the OT list if some people start getting racist or personal. I don't think I was in that category, so I don't appreciate getting censored because, though my opinions are strong, I try to keep it dignified. I am a New Yorker, so dignified to me is probably harsh to someone from somewhere easier to live. Please correct me if I am wrong about my participation being one of the more benign. Another thing you might consider is using headers like in the LUG on the OT list. you could ask people to use L-OT-POL for political posts so the Tobias' of the world can divert them to their junk mailbox. L-OT-MUSIC could be one for musical topics. I don't know how practical that is from your standpoint, please let me know. One thing I liked about Joeri's admin-ing was that he would send a personal email to me when I got out of line, but only on the LUG, not on the OT. thanks Jeremy, Teddy
