For me the problems in terms of useless list traffic aren't exactly caused
by OT threads but by threads like this:

- "Should I buy a Mac or PC for Logic?" thread (which I would defenitley
consider to be on topic) => Usually results in an endless (and stupid) "Mac
vs. PC" flame war.

- "4.7 features/5.0" threads (not OT,not necessarily senseless either
because some people also offer wise insights about eventual to-be-integrated
features) => Usually ends in bashing Emagic because not keeping their ETAs.

- "Dongle problems/EXS/ES1 authorisation" threads (again not OT at all
because the person might have serious problems that could be solved) =>
Usually results in accusing Emagic as well, for using such a "lame"
protection scheme, etc. => Usually results in another thread about using
cracked versions because there are no dongle/authorisation problems with
cracks => Usually results in another thread about moral integrity and stuff
like that...<sigh>

Hard to sort these things out I think.

Of course there are lotsa OT threads that could be taken over to the L-OT
way earlier too (just as the "Beetle/Fuel" thread) and this certainly
happens not often enough, but I don't think that these are the threads
actually causing the most senseless traffic.

Sascha
