Maybe you'd consider partitioning your hard-drive so that you can
have both versions of the OS. That way you can revert at will by
starting up from your choice of partition.

MacOS 9.2.2 is the most current OS. Make sure all your stars are in
alignment before you make changes in your OS, for best results preform
the ritual close to a half moon and drink lots of green tea...maybe call
your parents beforehand just for good measure. If you have any trouble
go see your local healer:-)

stable.

Hi Bryan,
I also clung on to 9.0.4 for ages but I've taken the plunge to 9.2.2
and haven't noticed any down sides - yet! Did it in December so hopefully I
would have spotted any problems by now.
Regarding your worries about going back, assuming that you have enough
hard drive space, follow the instructions for doing a clean install and you
will keep your old system and have a shiny new one with no added extensions.
You will either need to manually copy your necessary extensions from the old
system to the new one or re-install the 3rd party software (like Logic) so
that they put the necessary extensions in themselves. It's not as hard as it
sounds. I think all "Mac
Experts" get that way by fiddling occasionally.
Macs aren't like PC's, they like humans!
        Gareth
