The guy who recommended this site raved about there should be more info like
this but I couldn't find any info. Actually the article on how to get a
produced sound was 'to be continued' and didn't say anything.
A big tease if you ask me.

Bollocks. Just because I didn't invent the car doesn't mean I cannot
understand how it works and build one. But it doesn't mean I can build a
car that works as well as the guys who've been building cars for a long
time. This is just about sharing techniques.

I'd like to know the effects processors and routings used for those
extremely wide, enveloping, yet mono compatible vocals that can be found
on every big record today.

Thank the powers that be this equation is false.

Hardly bullocks and hardly a comparison. I doubt anyone who you look up to
engineering wise invented the FX processors used, they just learned the
skills of how to use them by practicing. What you need to do is not find
out other peoples techniques but rather try recreating what you hear them
doing. This will spawn true creativity, much more so than copying. If you
like a certian effect someone did, expiriment with trying to recreate it
because you will come up with something original and probably even better.
This is likely how the person you are trying to emulate did it as well. :-)

Isn't he that guy who's last name got divorced from his first name
then died in a car crash.

From what I've read from him so far, I'd definitely agree with you on
this. It's not necessarily bad info, but it's pretty basic, obvious
stuff, and you'd expect a lot more considering all the hype.

The one thing to take notes on, however, would be his self promotion.
He does seem to be a genius at that. ;-)

What info? I couldn't find any?

He has several articles on Digidesign's site under "Digizine'.

http://www.digidesign.com/digizine/

I think what he's talking about is a new series where he'll be mixing one track over a period of months in an interactive format.
