The Logic Off Topic list

I am about to purchase a DVD burner, I know I´ve been a little slow to do this, but I suppose the format wars have kept me from getting interested. Anyway I´m tired of backing up projects to 10 CDs instead of 1 DVD so is there anything that I should look out for. I have had a very happy relationship with Plextor so far and I´m considering the PX 708A, is that a good idea?

Yes, I have the 504 and 708 from Plextor, very happy with both.

I only have the Pioneer model that Apple rebrands as the SuperDrive 
(which works wonderfully BTW and is available separately) but if I was 
in the market for a new one I would absolutely put Plextor at the top 
of my list, having nothing but great success with every Plextor CD-R 
drive I've ever owned. Unless they've pulled a Sony on us I can't 
imagine anything from them being subpar.

I have a plextor CD-RW.  It is very reliable.  I also have a NEC 
DVD+RW, also no complaints from this drive either.
