Dear Cyril,

This has been discussed before (see archives). The list will not be split into the two
platforms.

You can filter it with the subject lines.

We might split up the OT stuff though.

Joeri

Hi Cyril,

The traffic hasn't changed very much. It changes a bit between the months, but it's an average of
3100 mails a month. That makes about a hundred a day. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/logic-users
is an overview.
There's mainly been a lot of OT lately which boosts the amount of mails.

Also, imo a better approach might be to set up a webpage that answers newbie questions that have
been discussed. This page could then have the FAQ of the list + a link to Emagic, as well as links
to Dave's Bellingham and Darren's (logicuser.net) webpages. If a link to that page would be
available in the footer of the mails, everyone would have all info all the time.

> When I go on holidays I must un-subscribe the list

You can also put your account in web-only. Then you don't need to unsubscribe.

> Do a Poll, we will see how everybody is reacting !

Feel free to set up a poll at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/logic-users/polls
We've also been told by some Emagic people who now contribute that if the list is split up, they
will no longer contribute. That's a huge loss imo.

Bye,
Joeri

Ps: I'm afraid this mail might also cause a huge thread. :-(

Hello Joeri

I know that it has been discussed before. But may be it's now time to discussed it again as the
traffic has increased a lot since 6 month.
When I go on holidays I must un-subscribe the list because there is so much traffic and my mail
box is getting full after a few days of holidays.

Do a Poll, we will see how everybody is reacting !

Thanks
Best regards

Cyril

I have 32 filters in my mail package

Actually, as a Mac user I have to say that a think it would be a mistake to
split the list Mac/Win.

The programs are virtually the same. That should be reason enough to NOT
split the list
A LAW user has just a much to learn from a LAM user as LAM user can learn
from a LAW user.

While Cyril is correct in that a LAM user doesn't care about the "AMD vs.
Intel" debates or the what "mobo should I get" threads, the fundamental
program operation is the same on both platforms.

Splitting the list would just reduce the brain power that can be applied to
an individual users problem or question.
