HI,
I am planning on purchasing some large, 400 to 500 meg, drives to backup
my system drives. Does anyone love what they are using or would warn me off
certain drives?
Thanks,
Jamie

I use Seagate exclusively, and they have never let me down.

I've had excellent results with both La Cie and Maxtor triple-
interface external drives. I don't know what manufacturer's drives
are inside them. They do FW 400, FW 800 and USB 2. I have several in
various sizes, 250G, 300G, 500G and none have ever failed. I did
have one older La Cie 250G drive fail after four years - it was from
around 1999 or 2000 when the face plate was blue. I have three more
of those old ones still running now and they're working OK.
