Many applications rely on libraries and preferences on the system
drive. So moving the apps to the second drive does not work properly
unless you use that drive as your startup drive. But I won't do that
because then you again record to that system drive, have your samples
here and two systems to maintain.
You can leave the apps on the current drive and have all audio files
on the other one: all your songs, samples, IR's, other sound libraries.
Be aware that you might need to reinstall some audio applications/
plugins if you don't find a way to tell them the new path to their
audio files. Aliases work in many cases but not in all. At least do
not expect to copy files and run as if nothing happened. May need a
couple of hours. Or days, if you have a lot to reinstall and
reconfigure. But it is worth the efforts.
