Well, if I took the avrfreaks website as an example, it was not in the first
place for its layout (although I like it) because this is always a matter of
personal taste. What I find a plus on this website is the fact that it has
more than one forum, dedicated to several topics + it gives you an overview
on all devices (+ possibility of comparison of features), links to
datasheets, available tools (+ possibility of user rating), application
notes, etc, etc, etc.
I can imagine that to cover all ARM7 devices in the same way as for AVR
devices, will not be an easy job. The fact alone that ARM7 is licensed to
10+ manufacturers makes it much more complicated. On the other hand, this is
also a reason to bring together all this information to make such a
site/forum a good place to start from.
Good initiative. I hope it will succeed.

Thanks for all the wonderful feedback, I appreciate every little comment
that you want to share.
From what I hear there are people who are suggesting an avrfreaks style
site. Although I agree that the layout is good, I personally don't think a
webforum-only system is very beneficial (as pointed out by many posters).
I would suggest a webforum backed by SMTP (email) and maybe even NNTP
(news groups), to increase the level of access to the forums.
I also do like the microchip forum system. It would be nice to emulate
some of their features.
On the question of wikis, my suggestion was not to make the entire site a
wiki, yet allow people to create and maintain wikis for specific topics.
Many CMS systems support wikis along side the main web forms/mailing lists
and other content.
