LPC2000 Flash utilty problem

LPC2000 Flash utilty problem

2005-04-29 by 김동휘

Hi.
I now design a test board using LPC2214.
When I download hex code to target, I use the LPC2000 flash utility.

If my hex code is over 130KB, flash utility annouces the following message.
"Code in HEX file exceeds Flash Limitations!"

The internal flash of LPC2214 is 256KB.
But my code size is about 130KB.

Why does this problem happen to?
How can I settle to this problem?

Thanks for your response.

I don't know what I do according to your message.

What program is 'dsdc.exe'?. What does that roll?
Where do I execute that, 'bsdc -l comX'

What is the boot loader jumper?

Does you have any document for this?

I want to reply a detail reponse.
You can do that? I am sorry.

Try my diagnostic tool available at:

      http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~jayas/esdk/files/lpc/bsdc.exe

Install the boot loader jumper, reset the target board and run this
  command as:

      bsdc -l comX

where COMX is the serial port your board is connected to.

It should print enough information from boot sector about your device
that may give a hint as to what is happening.

I meant the jumper on your board that pulls P0.14 low so that on
reset, your LPC enters ISP mode. By install, I meant inserting this
jumper or its equivalent for your board. I do not mean software
installation.

Assuming your target board is working, the most likely reason for

connect .... bsdc: error 21: the device is not ready

is that you indicated the wrong comms port or there is a handshake
problem.

I am interested in fixing it so it works for you. Lets do this by
direct emails... the manual page for that utility is long overdue!
