Getting a good flute sound is a priority for me from my MOTM (its the only imitative sound I "need,' however I need it to be less European classical music and more Cuban) and your patches are inspiring.<< Thanks for the compliments. I noticed when patching up the flute patch that if I cranked up the oscillator FM knob that causes more breath from the BC3 to change the pitch, that I started to get a more primitive flute sound, possibly more along the lines of some South American Andean type instrument. And I'm sure there are probably a bunch of other things that could be modified. >>I am quite simply beaten with amazement. I had no idea this was possible. What's next, anybody got a good accordian patch HA! Seriously though it would be great to hear some guitar and drums samples too. I am working on drums but I would love to hear everybodies impressions and versions of MOTM percussion.<< Again thanks for the comments. Guitars are probably better done on a polyphonic and I'm going to be doing more of that on the Nord Modular. If played through a distortion unit, the polyphonic notes affect the sound in a way that doesn't happen when just playing one note at a time. And percussion was also something I was considering doing on the Nord Mod but might do some on the MOTM. But I will probably stick to the cymbals I did on my JP-8080 because they require the full resources of a polyphonic synth. Link below for sound snippet which shows a milder cymbal strike patch (kind of like ride cymbal) followed at the end by a huge cymbal crash patch. http://members.aol.com/elhardt/images/cymbals.mp3 mate_stubb@... writes: >>Ken, does the Yammy BC allow enough control to do brass tongueing techniques, reed bites, etc?<< All it does is sense breath pressure. Although if you also make a vocal sound with your throat it sounds different for some reason. If you want to get more elaborate then that, then you will probably want to hook up foot pedals or something else to further control and alter the sound. I wish the BC3 could sense reverse breath so if you sucked in you could use that to do something different or output negative values. -Elhardt
