Another waveshaping technique that is not FM, but is very cool with a VCA and single VCO was posted to the list about a year ago by Elhardt I think. Ken, was that you? Anyhow, you use one wave from a VCO (lets say the sine) as the CV for a VCA. Another wave from the same VCO is the signal through the VCA. The output wave on the VCA can be shaped by varying the gain of the audio control signal (and offset too) if you use a mixer. Many interesting waveforms can be created using this simple patch.
