I've explained this several times, but let's be clear: It is correct that the MiniWave is not a VCO - it requires one to drive it only if you are using it to play back wavetables. It also is NOT a clocked wavetable device like the DigiSound VCDO or Modcan. The wavetable position is determined directly by CV, not by advancing the count on an internal clock. THAT'S why the MiniWave is much more flexible than a clocked device, and why it can do things like quantize an input voltage into scales, or perform Serge-like transform functions. It is an arbitrary transfer function generator, with the transfer functions encoded into ROM. No more, no less!
