Uncompetition?

Uncompetition?

2003-01-28 by Mike Marsh <mmarsh@websense.com>

Hey -

How about we start an uncompetition? People submit a piece, a
description, it gets hosted somewhere and people comment on the
work. No winners or losers, just a chance to hear fellow MOTMers'
work.

No problem. Just send me my '190. ;)

Better yet: send them in as MOTM demos I can add to the website. I need '190 RM demos,
especially. The demo files are getting 'rusty' in some cases. Demos are the #1 reason quoted for
interest in MOTMs (well, it's not the low cost <snicker>). I'll take CD- *if* you put your NAME
on the CD (I have 4 mystery CDs laying on the shelf). They don't have to be the next Wendy
Carlos. Rather, many people ask about signal processing (vocals, guitar, etc) and I want to have
a dedicated demo section just on running external signals.

Some could make it as demos, but I was thinking more on the order of
let's hear *everything* that's out there! Demos are usually pretty
targeted.

However, we could submit them to you for hosting with the
understanding that some may be picked as demos and we would give
permission (sort of in return for the hassle and cost of hosting).

When I get home tonight, I'll send Paul an MP3 of "Pollock #1 2002"
as my initial contribution. I was watching a documentary and then a
feature film on the life of Jackson Pollock and this was my first
attempt at "action music" (as opposed to "action painting"). Paint
(timbre) swirls of different tempo and location with bursts of color
and other stuff...BTW, there are 4 in the Pollock series. I like #1
best.

Sound like fun. And, here are links to those who already have music
available some of which features MOTM.
