I recommend the Korg DTR series of rack mount tuners. Big display, easy to see from
anywhere in the room, very accurate, works over a wide range and quite fast. They
can be pricy sometime but you can find bargins here and there. I have a patch cord
that can get to all of my oscillators permanently plugged into the front panel input
of mine.

Whatever you get, make sure it has a wide range. I think rack mount is best since I
can never find a stable place to set the hand held units.

You also need to figure out a case or a rack to put your modules in.

Eric

No--ask for a quote on what you want, and he'll cut you a deal. Don't rely
on the posted prices. Also tell him they're for your MOTM modular
synthesizer--he has good feelings about us, being repeat customers and all.

Well, actually, I think they are cheap. Tell him you are a MOTM customer
and ask for a discount. I got 30 cables of assorted lengths of 1 foot to 3
foot for $150. That's only $5 each. It will cost you $4 to make them
yourself. eeh ?

In fairness to John K. I think his prices have gone up a bit. In April I
ordered 30 cables (5 each of 12", 18", 24", 30", 36", 42" -- I'd say call
this the basic MOTM pack) for a bit over $175 -- still worth it!

Some folks'll probably view this as heresy, kind of like running regular
gas in a ferrari or something, but for the modular, I just buy the 8-packs
of Hosa molded plastic cables. Virtually every music store has 'em. I've
found them for $16 for the 18" lengths, and $20 for the 3' lengths. Yeah, I
know they're cheap and crummy, but I haven't really had any problems with
them. And the colors make the modular look really cute!
