MOTM-110 VCA Mod?

MOTM-110 VCA Mod?

2000-11-05 by thomas white

How many of you guys have more than one VCA? How many? Is anybody hurting
for the dual Ultra-VCA like I am? Yes, I know...Patience young grasshopper
but it still is a nice dream for now right? Or,

How about this...

Has anybody modified their 110 VCA to have a second CV input with
attenuator? How easily can it be done? Someone please break it down,

Thomas White

PS. Checked out a copy of the "Allen Strange" book at my local library
today. Mint condition second edition with hard bound cover. Damn I wish I
could keep it... maybe er it'll get lost? Yikes Also a small paper back book
titled "Electronic Music Synthesizers" by Delton T Horn published by TAB
books in 1980 1st edition fourth printing so there should be a couple of
this little guy out there somewhere. Has great CV/modular info, schematics,
patch diagrams and more. Find it!

hello all,

i ending up with four
one motm and three oakleys. the oakley kits have two CV inputs
the last two oakley pcbs were for an assortment of bits i was going to use
to build an autopanner, now i've got a dual vca module instead - and a good
job two, cos only last week i was asked to stick some delayed vibrato over a
patch (my baby's first ever "pro" outing) and i couldn't work it out without
my motm700 (currently off-cabinet) or my diy gate delay (off-cabinet and not
bloody working)

cheers

WARNIGN WARNING WARNING!

The Delton Horn book is (in)famous for over 45 typos! It is *totally
useless*.

It is easy to add another audio input, or another CV input.....BUT.....
that's NOT
the same as a seperate VCA.

Patience, young grasshopper.

Re: [motm] MOTM-110 VCA Mod?

You can use the ring mod section of you 110 as an emergency VCA without
modification.
1. Audio into X, switch set to ...errr... AC
2. CV into Y, switch set to ....err.... DC

You have top play with the controls a bit to get just what you want. I
remember last time I did this, I had just a tiny bit of bleed through even
when the EG had gone to zero CV. The solution for that is gating the output
with a 700. Of course, the same EG can be used for the CV control of the
700

I think it was Moe Bradley's idea to use the 700. In fact, I am certain all
of the ideas were someone else's at one time.

Someone please break it down,
